The time we have left in Illinois is quickly running out, and our goodbyes began today. Our awesome car, a Toyota RAV4, had to find a new home before we moved to CA. With the oxygen sensor held on by some bailing wire, there was no way it was going to pass California's stringent emissions rules. So I posted it on craigslist yesterday. And in less than 24 hours, we were contacted by no fewer than ten people wanting to buy it. It didn't even occur to me to note that we wanted to keep it until December 14th. I could never have imagined someone would show up at our house, last night, like six hours after I'd posted it, with thousands of dollars of cash in hand, wanting to drive it away. Holy cow! It still had our kids' car seats in it, and our CDs, and the messy contents of our glove box, and our stale Froot Loops under the driver's seat! We weren't ready to let it go! But I guess when people look for cars on craigslist, they want them
now! It was really sad to watch it drive away this afternoon. If taking down all the decorations in my house didn't make me feel temporary, being without a car to call my own certainly does. We're not long for this Illinois world! At least we have one worry crossed off our list. Now, who wants to rent a really cute house? Anyone? Any takers? Going once, going twice?
Please? :)

I am glad there are still a few people to say goodbye to, and a little time left. I get so fond of you wonderful people and then it is time for you to go. You radiate all that is good and virtuous and pure in this world, and I know you have surely had many stressors and trials in your time here, but it has never shown on your faces. You have been a light to me in your time here. I will miss your smile and your laugh Ashley. We love the Bairs!
