Spencer had just finished using the facilities, and his pants were around his ankles. I asked him to pull up his pants please, and he said, "Can you sing the 'Pulling Up Your Pants' song?"
"Hmm. I don't know a song about pulling up your pants," I answered.
"It goes like this. 'Pull-ing up your pants, pull-ing up your pants,'" he sang in an ascending kind of scale.
"Oh, that's a good song," I said.
"Yeah," he replied, very matter-of-fact. "It's from Mozart. Mozart wrote that song."
Awesome.
The "Pulling Up Your Pants" song, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Classic(al).
And later, another pants-related conversation:
After naptime, I exclaimed, "Spence, guess what! It's time to go to the library!"
"Actually it's time to go to the store," he replied.
"What for?" I asked.
"Because I need to buy a belt," he said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I like belts."
Totally out of the blue. Never a dull moment with this little dude.
