Yum and Fun

I just made this dish for dinner last night, and it was so delicious. Is it just me, or is it trendy now in the cooking world to make a peanut butter sauce to go over noodles? Delish.

In other news, Spencer has begun to read. He's sounding out words as we read and putting them together. A teacher friend of mine suggested having him not only spell-out words but say the sound each letter makes too, and working with that, he read "jump," "job," "but," "big," and several other words last night. I am SO excited for him!

And my own excitement for the week: I aided in the rescue of an escapee rabbit. The little bunny was on the hop, but some anything-but-hare-brained children cottoned on to his hiding place and spotted him trying to make a jump for it under the other bunnies' cages. It got pretty hare-y for a bit, but my spry friend Katie leaped the fence, and the bunny's dreams of greener pastures Petered out. Along with my supply of puns, luckily for you. Thumper of a good tail, though, don't you think? :)

Here, bunny-bunny-bunny ... Victory!

Cute post. Way to go Spencer, what a smart boy! We made the Asian Peanut noodle dish also this week. Did you use the Better'n Peanut Butter stuff? All I had was real peanut butter....the natural kind you grind yourself from peanuts at Winco. Richard really liked the dish. Have a Happy Easter!

I used natural peanut butter too! I also didn't have any Better'n stuff. And I used sweet chili sauce in place of the sriracha, because I couldn't find any. I didn't want the dish to be spicy anyway. Joe generally doesn't go for the peanut butter, but with all the greens stacked on top, he liked the combination of flavors. Isaac gobbled it up. Spencer picked at it, but Spencer picks at everything.

I love the bunny rescue story, and I must admit, it is so cool when your kids cook better than you do!

Thanks for helping catch the bunny! (We needed him for Easter...)
